Suicide

Gosh! last Saturday, I found out that Eryn's nanny's new maid has hung herself from the bathroom window and has committed suicide!

The nanny takes care of Eryn and another 4 year old boy. That Saturday, the boy was sent to the nanny's place but the nanny had to go out to do get something around 10am and the boy was left alone at home. At about 12noon, the nanny called home and the boy picked up the call.

The nanny asked the boy to call the maid and he went upstairs to call the maid and took sometime before he answered the phone once again. He told the nanny that the maid was "tied-up", not knowing how to describe it. The nanny panicked and called a nearby neighbour who went to the house and saw that the maid's body was already harden.

The police came and the nanny was in a traumatic situation. The maid only started work 5 days before the incident and it was suspected that she could be in a deep depression. The worst thing is the thought of how the nanny and the boy will carry this at the back of their mind.

I took care of Eryn on Monday to give the nanny a break as she had to make a police report. The police has classify the case as a sudden death.

That suicide, happened one day before the ghost month prayer day or something like that...

hmom, the nanny seems quite at a lost now. she's such a wonderful lady, just so unfortunate that she has to go through this.

chiwi, she's alone most of the time. So, she and her hubby are planning to get another place to stay so as not to think to much about it all the time, wondering whether her presence is around or not.

chanel, definitely mind-bloggling!

blur angel, I think the nanny wasn't able to cope on Mon and therefore, sent the boy to her own sister's place who is also a babysitter. It's also good for the boy, coz he wouldn't not be thinking about the incident as well.

Anggie, the boy's mum is trying to talk to the boy and explain the situation I think. Let's hope everyone will come through this period.

what a traumatic experience for the nanny and for the boy! i feel bad for both of them, esp the boy... what an exposure at such a young age.

i think it's traumatic for you too... knowing that you send your boy there.

OMG Sharon, that was really shocking and traumatic. I think the maid is also a bit cuckoo, else why would she want to take her own life. Luckily she didnt harm the little boy. That's just so scary.

sharon,
is Eryn safe with the nanny or not. Why nanny went out leaving maid and the boy alone at home? What if the maid did something to the boy or left with him? I dont trust maid alone with my kids.
I thought your mom staying with you and taking care of kids?

That is really scary and bad luck. I wouldn't let my son stay with the nanny in that house again...

Eryn was with me at home as it was Saturday as I don't send Eryn to her nanny's place on weekends.

The boy is no longer under the care of the nanny's place and he is now at the nanny's sister's house in another area to avoid him facing any trauma I believe.

So far, there's no wierd happenings but they are already looking at moving out soon.

Wen, maids really can't be trusted and they are just so unpredictable. My previous maid has gone back late last year and I've never taken in any new maids since then. At least, not for a very long time.
