Oh my, Brendan can't really seem to pronounce his "r". Check this out :
Daddy : Brendan, how to you say rrrrrab-bit
Brendan : Brrrrrrr........ Wabbit!
Daddy : What about Brrrrrrrrrrren-dan?
Brendan : Brrrrr..........Band-den!!
Daddy : How about ae-rrrrrro-plane?
Brendan : Brrrrr........ Aewooplane...
Eryn : Brrrrrrr.... Brrrrrrrr.......
On a separate issue, I'm surprised at the no. of syllables that Eryn can input to her list of "Pronouncable" words at one year old. Brendan could only manage sign languages when he was one and a few monosyllables....
Quite recently, Brendan was playing with an empty bottle and making lots of noise with the bottle by banging it on the floor. After a while, Eryn shoke her head and said, "Noooo.....Pe-Cah!"
She's been nodding her head and say "Yes", shaking her head and say "No" or "Can-not" and her latest word to her vocab "Ma..... ma.... ma.... ma...." Problem is, we don't know if she's calling me or calling Ah-Mah (her paternal grandma).

I think the R is not easy to pronounce.. he'll come to it.. Tell him to make sound of a car or motorbike, VROOOOM VROOOM.. find some fun ways to get him to pronunce the word.. with practice, I guess he'll be able to make it.
Girls are truly faster speaker than boys huh?
wow..eryn already talking just after 1yo. I think with Brendan around, she picks up words faster. Faythe is definitely a slow fella when comes to talking
Eryn is much faster...I think 'r' is not an easy word to pronounce. Jeriel's 'r' pronounciation also not clear
wow! she is picking up words wuite fast eh? that;s really good!
chinese helitage, cannor ponounce l ok wat.
zara's mama, both Brendan & Eryn can say Brrrrooomm..... but most of the time, the "r" doesn't comes out! :P
jazzmint, I think you're right. She must be having the "influence" of her kor-kor.
Chanel, I hope his "r" will not be an "l" next time. hehe
mom2ashley, I'm quite surprised at the no. of words that she's saying as well.
chief, I hope I won't hear him saying "I want to eat Fly Lice" one day!!
Like all the mummies said "R" is really not easly to pronounce. Need to get him practice his tongue 1st. Eryn's so clever. I guess having an elder sibling around helps her with the speech.
I think mostly the 2nd sibling will pick up word faster than the first. I can hear Alvan sometimes pronounce 'kor kor' when he play with Adrian, or 'ta ta' when kor kor bully him :), he is now almost 9mths.
Sabrina, I hope he'll grow out of it and manage his "r",
Rachel, chidren these days are unlike before. They're getting too smart for their parents!
It must be very cute listening to those words without rrrrr. Hehehe...it happened to bb when he was younger but now he seems ok. Can pronounce bedroom. :)
Ah mah in Hokkien eh? Ask Eryn to call you mommy instead so that it's not confusing.
Definitely girls are fast speech learner than boys. Some exception too, my nephew said sentences when he was 18 months old, maybe with an older sister around.
Allyfeel, Eryn has started mummee mummee mummee everyday!! How interesting :-)
Hui Sia, I do think that an older sibling does helps a lot. Eryn's vocab has grown tremendously at 13 months. I've never seen Brendan speaking so many words when he was at that age!
long time no update. Super busy ??
