Banjir, oh Banjir

With the latest flash flood in KL (again!), I seriously feel that there’s too much of a kampong mentality in some people. You practically see rubbish everywhere you go in Malaysia.
Imagine that DBKL claims that they collect approximately 20 tonnes of garbage every single day from the KL rivers. Eeww.... and you still see people fishing in these rivers. Cleanliness seems to be the least of the concern for these people.
The not so SMART tunnel had to be closed because of the flood effect. I kind of wonder what would happen when the new “River of Life” project is implemented.
You go to the makan stall, you see hawkers throwing food waste inside the longkang beside their stalls. I happened to wait inside a car for hubby who went to buy something, just right behind one very famous dim sum shop in Puchong one fine afternoon. I saw their foreign workers piling up all the unwashed dishes into a huge basin and proceed to pour dish washing liquid into it and give a quick wash to the dishes before rinsing it into another huge tub of supposedly clean water which has been used repeatedly. After the whole washing, the first tub of water was poured into the drain, just like the colour of the local dark kopi in our local coffee shops. You see pieces of food, bones, plastics and don’t-know-what on the floor. The works were barefooted too. I had wanted to take out my phone to videotape the whole thing, but  the workers knew that I was observing them.
One thing I hate most is when people start clearing their throat out loud and start spitting around.  The ones chewing on the betel nut leaves are the worst. Already we have people burping and farting like it’s their right to do so in public, especially those who get great pleasure in burping right after meals, the louder the better.
Then, you see those garbage truck with those leachate leaking out from their trucks everywhere they go. Have you ever seen those huge garbage containers filled up with garbage inside out? Gosh, I don’t ever remember seeing any on these containers without garbage surrounding it, not to mention the smell.
When it comes to public toilets, especially the ladies toilets (not sure about the men’s toilet), the floors are always wet, including the ones in some office buildings. One office cleaner complaint that each time she mopped the floor dry (and she reuse the same water from the same pail to mop and re-mop), some women just like to splash water everywhere inside the toilet. I can’t agree with her more. I don’t know what these people do inside when they go to the toilet. It’s like as though they’ve just bathed in there.
So you see, it’s the MENTALity on some people who do not see the wrong in doing these kind of things and wouldn’t give a damn what others think but make helluva noise when they get affected in some way or another.
My symphaties to friends and those who got stuck in those horrendous jam the other day, and those whose cars were stuck in the flood. This "River of Life" project better be good. I hope it's not one of those not-so-smart projects with billions spent on it.

Decaying human values

The news on the little two year old girl in China created a huge outcry all over the world. It is just so sad to know that that little girl has died.

Being hit twice, and left to die on the road, with the TOTAL ignorance by 18 passers-by definitely is not something you can really imagine.

Humans are getting smarter, and sadly, more self-centred, greedy and lacking in moral values nowadays. This kind of news sadden me, and while questions are being pointed at the huge populated and developing country, I'd have to say that this applies to everywhere else in the world, including our country.

True human values are decreasing and even if they do, the main priorities are to "take care of my own rice bowl first" and not giving a damn at other people.

May you rest in peace, little Yue..

me and my big blunder

I bumped into an acquaintance this afternoon while waiting for a friend. We started chatting when I noticed a lady walking slowly towards our direction and looking at me. I didn't give much thought to it until she stood beside me. It was then that I realise that she's my friend's wife.

I thought that she has that tinge of jealousy in her and he introduced both of us to each other. I extended my hand and shook hers and started a conversation with her so she won't misunderstood me unnecessarily. She began to warm up to me and we chatted for a few minutes.

I noticed that her tummy was a little big. It was not like the bloated look or flabby look. It just looked like she's around 5 months pregnant or so. I asked how many months pregnant is she and then that's when she kept quiet and my friend, her hubby, intercepted and said that she's not, and that her tummy just look exceptionally big.

Oh dear! Oh dear!! I dropped a bomb and I just felt like vanishing right there on the spot!! I turned to her and apologised. Luckily, I was not punched on the spot!

I don't normally ask such things like that to people cos I too have a flabby tummy. I know. I made a BIG blunder. I deserve to be shot dead there and then. I'm quite upset over my stupid blunder.

Please forgive me. Stupid stupid me!

Butt Exposed

I was having breakfast with a friend this morning when this two beautiful girls sat near us, but I almost choked on my coffee when I saw two rounded apples peeking out from one of the girl's pants!!

The photo might not be that obvious but when she was near us, I could see the deep 'longkang' there for all to see. hahahaha

One Malaysia?

It was a disturbing day for me when I read news of the attack on churches. We've come this far and yet, being a country known, or claimed, to be multicultural and multiracial, we see idiotics acts like this being done. What a total shame and a total disgrace. Haven't these people search deep into their roots of their own moral and social beliefs before resorting to such action?

I have many friends of the Malay, Indian, Eurasian and even East Malaysian races, and never once I've encountered any racial or even religious tensions among ourselves in school or at work. Well, I do remember the time when I used to have an old primary 2 school-mate who was sentenced to death for bombing of a shopping mall in Jakarta 9 years ago. He and his group were claimed to be involved in the bombing of two churches before that incident in Indonesia. He also lost his legs because of one of the bomb blast. I remember him to be a loner who used to mumble to himself. We never knew where he went after primary 2 or 3, until news of him appeared about 20 years later.

What had happened recently shows that some people are pathetically ignorant. Their actions are only detrimental to their own being and peace. As the late Mahatma Gandhi puts it, "Victory attained by violence is tantamount to a defeat, for it is momentary".

It is still a good understanding to know that there are many people out there condeming the attacks and wanting a real One Malaysia peace as written here , here and on many other websites and blogs.

Peace to all fellow Malaysians...

naked fella next door

Oh boy! Our backdoor neighbour is undergoing some renovation and there's some contractor worker staying there at night. And this fella always walk around the house naked, except for his underwear. And there's no curtain over the windows.

What's he up to, I wonder.. He'll walk around like superman, drinking water while standing IN HIS UNDERWEAR, walk around IN HIS UNDERWEAR, scratching his crotch while IN HIS UNDERWEAR... aiyo

I'll always ask hubby to quickly come and stand with me when I'm washing dishes in case he sees me and thinks that I'm watching him. So susah payah have to close curtain now..

Eewww...........

Damn it!! It's so disgusting. Disgusting!! Must grab my camera next time and record it down.

'Health attack'

What? Melamine in 17 biscuit products in Malaysia?! What's next?

Oh well, no wonder health problems are growing at an alarming rate. With pollution, processed food, unhealthy lifestyles, work stress, superficial diets, chemicals in our bodies and all, how can a person not face with health problems?

I know of many women who have problem conceiving due to the food they eat and their lifestyle. I know of a young woman who contracted lung cancer even though she doesn't smoke. I know kids with health problems. I believe all of us know of someone who has serious health problem in one way or another.

Based on some information I gathered sometime last year, I found the following :
  • medical inflation is rising at 15% per annum
  • the 3 giant killers are - cancer, heart attack and stroke
  • 1 in 3 Malaysians age 30 and above suffer from hypertension!
  • Only 6 out of 100 peple have their blood pressure under control
  • 10,000 deaths a year linked to stroke, heart attack and kidney failure
  • 6,000 deaths a year due to heart disease
  • 3 million have high cholesterol, which lead to the above stroke, heart problem, etc.
  • 25% of malaysian are overweight, and for obesity, we're no. 1 in Asia.

The numbers might vary, but the truth is that most people are pretyt much ignorant about all these. We know the importance, but do we really take heed?

Yikes! .... and I'm going for a Raya open house tonight, makan session tomorrow, Deepavali open house on Monday and dinner on Monday night... Time to exercise...... zzzzzz

Made in China again!!

All these made-in-China stuffs just seem to be giving some problems or another right? From toys and food. I wonder what's next.

In a Singapore news yesterday, it was stated that Singapore's Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) says its latest laboratory findings show that the "White Rabbit Creamy Candy" from China is also contaminated with melamine.

Oh, my favourite sweets when I was young!! I just loved it! And it's banned? Well, I wonder what else is in danger...

I received an sms this morning which states that the following items have been recalled due to the china's milk situation : M&M's Snickers, Mento's Yoghurt bottle, Dove Choc, Oreo wafer, Monmilk, Dutchlady sterilised milk, Wall's all natural mango, Mini poppers ice cream, Magnum ice cream, Moo sandwich icre cream, mini Cornetto and Youcan ice cream.

Are these made in China? Are these rumours? Should I just ignore it or just follow suit? With so many claims here and there, what should we actually do?

Well, looks like I better just watch my labels more carefully, made in China or not..

Merdeka!

With Merdeka round the corner, I don't know if Merdeka means anything to the kids now since they're still too young to even know about the world. They only know merdeka when they see Malaysia flag.

With the current situation in the company, I reserve my comments on my feelings and thoughts on the current development.

However, over the weekend, I had a good long chat with both my mum and my second eldest cousin. My maternal grandparents, had 15 children, of which 13 survived.

My mum and my second cousin talked about how tough life was during the Japanese occupation. My grandpa came all the way to China and worked his way through to support his family here in Malaysia and his siblings and parents back in China. No subsidies, no outside help. Life was tough. They stayed in the jungle, and had many encounters with the gurkhas, the Japanese soldiers, the British soldiers, and the danger the lurks everywhere around them - poisonous snakes, hornets, bobby traps, etc.

Merdeka truly meant a lot to people like them where they saw the development of the countries and now enjoy life to the fullest.

People nowadays are just spoilt for choices. Talking about human rights and this rights and that rights, but forgetting the reason and the strength that brought us so far.. Hope the unity of one single Malaysian race won't be forgotten...

Still, here's wishing everyone, especially to the older generation who saw through the pre-independence days.... "Selamat Hari Merdeka"

Eryn's tooth chipped.

At home, I'm always telling the kids not to jump here and there, not to do this and that, and it's only natural that I do so. Sometimes, it maybe due to my mood, but most of the time, it's a mother's instinct to tell her children not to endanger themselves.

The children tend to listen more to their daddy as daddy will not hesitate to hit them real hard that will send chills to their spine. However, I can be screaming my head off, give a smack and 'nagging' the kids non-stop and yet they can still laugh and continue with their little business of being active little children. (bully mummy eh?)

Most of the time, I'll leave daddy to put the kids to sleep after brushing their teeth cos somehow, they get it done faster with daddy around. However, when hubby is not around, I have to be the one doing it, and I go crazy doing it. The kids tend to take me for granted!

Two nights ago, hubby wasn't back from his outstation trip, and so, I have to get the kids to brush their teeth. As usual, they'll be laughing and jumping and running while I'm calling them and reminding them to do what they are supposed to do. Eryn then fell and started crying hard.

That made me start screaming at them and 'nag' even more. "Very, good! Always don't want to listen to mummy!..... Tell you not to jump you want to jump!.... I've said it many times, and yet you do not want to listen....blah... blahh... blahh..." Then, I dragged Eryn to the bathroom to brush her tooth for her and noticed slight bleeding in her gums.

I then saw that one of her front tooth was chipped! More like broken, to be exact. I tried to find the missing piece, but I guess she could have swallowed it.

Really makes me go crazy sometimes.... Eryn's only 3, which means, her two front teeth won't be dropping out any time soon, until she's 5 or 6. So, she'll have to be in her new look at least for the next 2-3 years.

Sigh! Want to be patient also cannot... Tell me, what are your experiences and incidents you have to face, dear parents? Sigh!

jams and cracks and @*$&~#...

I had full day trainings this week and had to leave early to reach my destination which normally takes 40 minutes. Yesterday, of all days, I chose to leave extra early because I wanted to reach earlier to have my nasi lemak breakfast as I didn't have a proper dinner the night before and my tummy was growling.

Mana tau, the stupid jam caused havoc from my place all the way through LDP and to Kepong. It took me 1 hours 40 minutes to reach my destination. That's an extra one hour!! I didn't exactly know what happened until I heard over the radio on the various road blocks in Klang Valley. It was later in the day, that I was told that it could be due to Anwar's court case. Haiya..... I don't read much papers nowadays, how to know about the case?

Well, as if that is not enough, I have to face the fear of that MRR2 flyover as I went under it to go to Kepong. Some stupid cracks and problems. This one makes me lagi geram... RM70 million spent for repairs also not enough (RM70 million wei, not RM700 thousand or RM7 million). I need money to repair the hairline crack in my house leh, that also apparently caused by some development taking place near my place.

As I come closer to the flyover, I have to try to drive faster to past the place as quickly as possible. You never know what can happened. Accidents happened all the time. Nobody expected a bus that plunged down the ravine near Genting a few months back and killed a few people. Nobody expected the horror accident recently at the Cheras-Kajang road. Nobody expected another horrific accident at Puchong where one person was killed. Then, there's the incident of the monorail accident where some metal stuff dropped on one person's car and injured that person. Haiya!!

And then, reading about Halcrow not advising on the usage of some materials and blah blah blah... really bo-lat already....

As I was already late, I quickly tapao one cha-siew pao and ate hurriedly while walking up 3 flights of stairs to the training hall. As I was waiting for my pao, I saw and kept thinking of one old lady with a bad limp that went around begging for money at the hawker stalls. If only 0.01% of that RM70 million was allocated for a person like her. That money, could have help feed her basic meal for one full year..

Oil price increase again!!

I pumped RM30 petrol at around 5pm and before I headed back home today. My phone battery was dead and by the time I got home, I recharged my phone and received 5 missed calls from one friend.

When I called her back, she was telling me that the price of petrol will increase tomorrow! I didn't have trouble pumping petrol earlier on as there was no queue. After cooking, I fetched Brendan from daycare and took him for a drive to the nearest Shell petrol station and was I extremely surprised at the tons of cars queueing up to pump petrol!!

Brendan had the urge to pee and so I stopped at the road side for him to do his 'business' and overheard a man telling one driver that the queue has not been moving for more than half and hour as there was a deadlock at the petrol station.

Brendan actually helped saved my time by not engaging in that stupid struggle to get into the petrol station. Since I was already out, I decided to head to BHP nearby but it was the same predicament. Deadlocked. I decided to try for the third time to Petronas not too far away and somehow manage to squeeze my way through the many, many oil pumps available there.

I've never joined in the crowd when it comes to petrol price increase, but now that I'm no longer in the full-time workforce and budget is a constraint, and inflation chocking us up, I have to be kiasu today and join in the crowd. Well, there's always a first time! It won't be the last time as well. Luckily I had Brendan to talk to or else I will be cursing my lungs out.

Unfortunately, I didn't take my handphone out or else I will have started snapping pictures of all petrol stations all over the place! hahaha

Made in China

There's so many complaints about China goods and tainted food products that makes people shy away from them.

One of my friend, Veron, experienced this with one Made In China soft toy that her kids were playing with. One day, she noticed her two primary school going daughters were having some sort of sore on their heads. She wasn't sure what was the cause of it. She cleaned her daughters room, washed the bedsheets, sun their mattresses and toys and all but the sore just wouldn't go away.

Out of the blue, she kept the soft toy away and started noticing that the sores were no longer there. It didn't occur then that the sores were due to the sensitivity of the chemical reaction from the soft toy's fur.

The soft toy was out again and this time, it slept with her youngest child, a 2 years old boy. Her son developed bad sores and reaction on his nose and some part of his face. Again, my friend did some checking and found that the cute cuddly soft toy was the cause of it.

Imagine, the many children out there who would have developed these symptoms and their parents might not even know that the itchiness and sores come from the harmless looking cuddly soft toys that they children are holding.

It's so scary to think that there could be unknown cases which can't be detected.

My kids' toys are so far so good. Some of them are Made In China too. I guess we'll just have to be careful and keep our eyes open for any reaction to our children's skin and health.

Fire Drill

I happened to go to the office yesterday where I'm currently working freelance and had to undergo a fire drill! When the siren sounded, all the staff were ordered to follow procedures in using the staircase down to the open car park. And there we were, all staff of ntv7, standing under the hot, scorching sun!

The bomba people were there and there was a real water spraying onto the roof of ntv7. Hmm... I do wonder why the water were brown in colour. Some of us joked that the water came from the toilet. It could be that the tank has not been in used and had probably turned rusty or something.

Anyway, there was the loooong demonstration and talk on fire prevention. Some staff were asked to give a hand it putting out the fire. One thing I learnt from the drill was never to pour water onto a fire caused by oil as this would make the fire get bigger!

The "woos" and the "wahs" and the clapping were quite an amusing sight. Factory workers from the surrounding factory lots and passer-bys stopped their car by the roadside to join in the "fun".

Come to think of it, how many of us do actually know what to expect and not panic in facing a real-life situation, in being caught in a fire? I don't think I would know about not pouring water onto a fire caused by oil, nor would I know the proper way of holding a fire extinguisher.

Speaking of fire drills, I'd better get one small fire extinguisher for the house to be on standby.

Doctor doctor!

I took my mum to a government hospital somewhere in KL for a check-up and we had to wait really long just to see the doctor.

Her appointment was scheduled to be at 10am. We arrived at 9:40am, registered my mum, and the waiting game began. We didn't get to see the doctor until around 11:35am. We entered the room and saw a few of the 4th year students sitting inside. Two of the students were then asked to entertain us. We were promised that it would only take 15 minutes. Well, the whole thing actually took one hour and the kind of questions they ask can really make you wonder how qualified these doctors are.

These two female 4th year students can't speak proper English, whatmore wanting us to "TRY" to understand what they're trying to say. They kept repeating the same questions and some of the questions are totally absurb. Among them are....

"How do you feel today?" (they asked this numerous times within that one hour interview)
"How do you feel the last time?" (asked this twice)
"Do you know where you are now?" (DUH!!!)
"Do you know what's the date today?" (despite writing it down on the paper)
"How old are you now?" (despite asking many times about the birth of date)
"How do you minus 7 from 100?" (what?! mathematic class ar?)
"You know, world, how you spell back?" (what? I don't understand leh...)
(she meant to ask how to you spell "world" backwards!! whatever for?!)
"How many children you have?" (after telling them I'm the eldest, and followed by one boy and one gal....)

The list goes on and on.... It was like a typical teacher-student classroom interview setting. They were treating my mum like some sort of a stupid person.

My mum can't really speak and understand BM and they took the advantage of whispering to each other in BM. My mum told them that she was taking a medicine for health and one of the student whispered to the other student, "apa ubat itu? tahu tak?"

I was sighing away, reading my papers and occasionally give them that really hard glare.....

Finally, I exploded and told them off, telling them that I do lots of reading myself and is quite knowledgeable and that what they're doing is really so unprofessional. I may not be a doctor but I don't think a doctor should treat an illiterate person like some donkey. Immediately they kept their trap up. They even relay some wrong information to the main doctor we were supposed to see cos when that doctor reviewed us, she told us that based on what she compiled from the two students, she gathered that my mum said this and that, which I found really amusing. I stared at them back and even corrected that the medicine my mum is taking is not what they claimed it to be. They immediately looked down and flip through their book.

Now I know why my friends who are now doctors in other countries just do not want to come back to Malaysia to work. And I also know why some friends do not have the confidence in Malaysia's young doctors!!

Falling leaves...

I'm on leave today, and am I glad to be home, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, esp. in this fasting period! The jam seems crazy at times.

Anyway, I took Brendan to the kids playground in one of the housing area near my apartment this morning. As we were approaching the playground, I saw one guy sitting all alone on one of the see-saw. He was wearing this shirt with the words "Kontraktor Alam Flora" on it and a rake on the ground just right beside him.

Wah.... damn shiok man... get paid just sitting around doing nothing, relaxing under the shady tree. Dry leaves were strewn all over the ground and it makes me wonder what (the heck) was he doing there, lazing around.

After half an hour, a phone rang. It was that man's phone. He was chatting with someone over the phone happily. He later took out a shiny golden piece of plastic from his pocket and started picking up his rake and walked away from the playground. The packaging looked so suspicious and I really do wonder whether the authorities (his boss) knows of what he's doing.

Kiasu-ism

I was at the Hytex warehouse sale yesterday. Boy! Those nice and pretty bajus were really cheap. I bought more than one dozen shirts for Brendan, more than one dozen dresses, tops and pants for Eryn, six for my sis, one for my mum, two for my maid, two for my maid's son, one dozen for a friend and my brother's girlfriend's SIL and two for me all at the cost of approximately RM100. That's a pretty good bargain.

I have to touch on the pathetic attitude of some of the parents there. The mad rush to grab the clothes when the workers were pouring them out were crazy. These clothes were as low as RM1, but there's no need to rush to grab it. Come on.... can die one ar if you don't manage to get those bulk of cheap clothes. These people were pushing and fighting and grabbing the clothes.

Don't care what sizes they are. Don't care what designs they are. Don't care if they behave like hooligans. As long as can get hold of it, can already. Eessshhhh.......

So, each time these happened, I'll go to the quieter corner and select the left-overs. Once the mad rush is over, I'll go over to the earlier mad place and look for more left-overs. There was this quite well-to-do and educated woman (based on the jewelleries and branded watch, shoes and clothes that she wore) who got tons and tons of beautiful clothes. I admire her for having the eyes in selecting the clothes until I realised that she's so damn self-centred. She had four basketful of clothes and then literallty booked one whole area, blocking others, and selecting the ones she wanted and dumped the rest. She was then down to two baskets. Then, again it happened. She went round picking another two baskets and again chose the nicer ones and dump the rest. And again it happened!! sigh!

There was one man who placed his son on top of the clothes. Another placed her daughter in one corner to sleep. And many others with children lingering around under the hot sun.

But I really cannot tahan when I saw this woman pushing and grabbing clothes while carrying her daughter of approximately two, or maybe three, in front of her. Her daughter was pressed and was screaming and crying in pain. She wouldn't give a damn and I was so pissed off I walked towards her, gave her a stare and told her off "Eh, you tak malu kah? Tengok anak you lah!! Nangis macam gila pun tak kisah! Malu lah!". I think if their child fainted also they wouldn't give a damn.

Such is the kiasu attitude of some people. Cannot get, try elsewhere lah. There are tons of clothes lying around. Why forsake your child's life for the sake of a RM1 baju?

The next time I go there, I'm going to bring my camera and take a shot at these people.

Termites Infestation

When I came back to KL after my maternity leave, I saw a huge termite mount under one of my bookshelf. They happily destroyed some of my books and the parquet floors. Hubby treated it, and the affected area and we thought everything was ok until one night I heard some light tapping sound at one corner when I got up to breastfeed my daughter.

I went on all fours and tried to figure out if it was actually the electrical wires sparking. Nope. Put my ears on the floor and... AND.... aarrrgghhhhhh! I knew instantly that it must be termites under those parquet floor. My mind was not at ease and I couldn't sleep the whole night, creeping on all fours trying to see which other areas were affected. Woke hubby up to tell him and he just said "ok, just don't disturb it. I'll look into it tomorrow". Well, there I was, lying wide awake. I'm the kind of person who must put my mind at ease over a problem like this. Well, I managed to sleep after a while but woke up early and starting checking up the big heavy solid wood wardrobe in my room. I had a feeling that it has to be more than one area being affected. True enough.. there were termites under the wardrobe by the signs of the mud trails. Hubby treated the wardrobe while I tap tap here and there to see if there's more. Yup! There were indeed more. Infact, I found three new parquet areas affected.

Hubby made some calls, got some quotations and within 2 days, hubby treated ALL the areas again, got a contractor to remove the parquets, bought some tiles and got the contractor to replace the parquet with tiles, more treatment again while I moved my kids, my mum and my maid to an aunt's place temporarily due to health concerns over the chemical treatment and the dust emitted.

Everything and everyone was kelam-kabut. Hubby had to go for a biz trip to Hong Kong in-between and I had to do a lot of shuttling here and there, transporting stuffs up and down. The apartment was like a garage. Well, I think a garage is tidier than the apartment. It was full of dust everywhere.

We'll be moving back this Sat. after staying for almost 2 weeks at my aunt's place. There be lots of cleaning to do and our apartment is now cleared. We've filed out complaints to the management who is now looking into getting a pest control team to treat the whole area.

During this time, I managed to read up on the species of white ants and the treatment available. Some pesticides are so toxic that it has been banned in other countries. There's so much options available, from drilling, powder, baits, etc.....I found out that Sentricon proved to be the best. We did the normal treatment using chemical, but am hoping that the management will get to the root of the problem using the Sentricon system.

I don't know whether it's me or what, but I seem to be seeing a lot of pest control vans on the road lately. Eeshhh..... termites! Thinking of it makes my bulu roma stands!

7 months pregnant

I'm beginning to feel more lethargic now. I'm now around 28 weeks and my baby has been kicking and moving around quite actively. I'm still making my weekly trips back to Kluang. Every Friday night (for one week in a month), hubby will drive me to the LRT station in Bukit Jalil where I'll head to Puduraya alone. I'll then buy the bus ticket, wait for the bus, board it and head back home to Kluang which is approximately 3.5 hours away. I guess I'll have to reduce my travel to every fortnightly from April onwards coz this tummy of mine is really giving me backaches. With the long journey by bus, it's contributing to some really discomfort in my legs and back.

Sometimes, I really do wonder what's wrong with our fellow Malaysians. I mean, despite being known as a multi-racial country, friendly and helpful... I don't really see that much when I'm pregnant.

Once a around 5 months pregnant, I stood waiting at the Puduraya Terminal and saw an old lady trying extermely hard to lift her legs up to climb the stairs. She was holding a cane to support herself and obviously was having difficulties moving around. Everyone stood around idling away. NOBODY helped. Nobody!! So, I tried to hold the auntie's hand to guide her up the stairs. Imagine, one pregnant woman and an old lady trying to go up the stairs admist the tidak apa attitude crowd. Eeshhh....

Another time, one Friday evening sometime last month, I took the shuttle bus after office hour to go to Puduraya and again, came across some ignorant people who just wouldn't give a damn to who you are, pregnant or not. The bus was packed like sardin and I had to juggle holding a bag in one hand and another trying to support myself by holding the side bar of the bus seat. People look at me and didn't give much thought about my tummy. Eh, you all buta kah? Luckily, I'm one fine and healthy preggie, or else, I would have beranak there on the spot.
